Nice setting of the verses of Sappho, great orchestration, clear structure of the piece, very convincing performance. Too bad that the only Greek song he knows is Zorbas’ – there is a lot to discover.

The violin piece is very dramatic, effective use of tremolo, double stops and harmonics. Encouraging development. . Overall, once again proves Salonen, is a very, very inspiring musician.

Nice setting of verses by Sappho, beautiful orchestration, very convincing performance / conducting. Too bad that knows only Greek music Salonen is ‘Zorba’. . Violin piece very dramatic, effective use of tremolo, double stops and harmonics. . and definitely a good piece gespielt.Einmal more shows Salonen as a very inspiring musician.

Great program, nice to hear Salonen discussion of Sappho songs. A lesser known gem in his work. The manner in which he tonepaints the text is amazing. I like Salonen chamber music, these pieces deserve to become better known. . .
