What would be the cheapest approach to getting a plane ticket to Madrid (March 15-23)?

During my spring break (15-23 March, I) want to fly to see my friend in Valencia, Spain. I’m looking for the cheapest ticket to get one (as a poor student). From the research I’ve done, it seems, as flights are cheaper than in Madrid to Valencia. I live in Wisconsin, and would fly out of Green Bay or Milwaukee airports. Multiple flights are no problem. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and the cheapest flights I have ever found about 670 $. Thanks
